I got it to work by installing the Microsoft Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox:
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Using%20the%20Windows%20Media%20Player%20plugin%20with%20FirefoxPlaying UT sounds using Firefox used to require installing Apple QuickTime, thankfully that is no longer the case.
