I have not idea if MS politics played into the decision. That's why I was stated it was speculation. It could have easily been based on discussions with customers that indicated they were moving elsewhere. It could have been a view that they were fragmenting the market, so they picked one option and went with it. It could have been a million other things.

We don't know what led up to the decision that was ultimately made.
