I agree with you, with one exception. Now and then, you need to build some kind of file, often a text file, where the easiest way to do it is to create a cursor with the data in the desired order and then export it. The only time I've ever used INSERT BLANK in an application was a situation like this (and way before we had such good text handling tools).
