This DJI gig has really opened by eyes to the world of remote IT work. I think more and more that is becoming a viable option. Glad to have this one on my resume. It is a big world out there and when there is no geographic limitation that opens up a pretty big potential customer base. I think some headhunters even specialize in it. I'm keeping a pretty close eye on what skill sets are most in demand in that world ( ASP MVC3 looks promising and always good to know the jscript etc that goes with that. ) I'm taking EPS's class on the Code Magazine MVC framework at the end of May just to get some more info and am burning up Pluralsight. Would really like it if the next gig included a lot of EF and WPF. Given the chance I'd like to do an enterpise project in Ideablade Devforce.

Dow Jones is being swallowed by S&P ( 75-25 between CME/DJI and McGrawHill/S&P ) SPI is a java/oracle shop. Eventually DJI will be run there on those platforms and that will mean it is time to move on. Meanwhile there is lots to in the transition.

The only thing I know for sure is I'll never do more than visit an office and I really like this remote stuff.

Everything else I can be pretty flexible about. ( well, everything except for my rate <bg> )

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
