>>>Athletics budget is ~$100M, CS budget ~$1.5M
>>>
>>>Sounds like the CS program is a joke - the school says it has an enrollment of 50,000: http://www.ufl.edu/about-uf/facts-and-rankings/
>>>
>>>Maybe the thinking is, if they can't provide a *good* CS program, don't do it at all.

>>UF is supposedly the states flagship university - I can't imagine any reason other than pure stupidity that they would eliminate the whole CS program. Perhaps if they spent a little more money on..ummm..education instead of football then they wouldn't have idiots doing things like this to begin with.

>Hey, didn't you used to live in FL? Do you, by any chance, have a CS degree from UF? < g >

Lived in FL yes - but not attend UF. In 1981 when I was 14 I managed to get a job as a computer programmer (I sort of B.S.'ed my way into it) - so by the time I was out of high school and ready to go to college (to be a computer programmer) I already had 4 years of experience so I sorta figured college would sort of be a huge waste of time.
