I agree that a college should give you a wide range of knowledge, but your major should give you classes that actually teach you accurate, current theory of the subject, not old outdated subject matter.

Students with a college degree should have been exposed to a wide range of knowledge, as well as given opportunities to learn how to evaluate and integrate that knowledge.
