I've read some of what's happening at the trial. Google pretty much ignored all Java licensing. And there are emails that show it. They did consider using C# at one time. There are several different outcomes in the case. If Google loses, they could pay a one-time fine or on going royalties. If Oracle loses, it could open the floodgates for lots more cases and not just for Java.
