>I have tons and tons of CDs that I want to "get rid of." So I want to rip them to MP3 sound tracks and copy to my computer. Then I would like to have a program that would allow me to play any of the MP3. And the main thing I would like is that the program would allow me to sort by CD title, artist, song title. So that I can find a track quickly. Anybody can suggest of such program? TIA.

I hope you mean by "get rid of" that you're putting them in storage. When you purchase a CD you're not purchasing the actual content (e.g. the music) but rather a license to use it -- and generally this license is tied to the distribution medium (i.e. the disc). So if you sell or give away the CD, you also give up the license for use of the content. If you destroy the disc, then the license is still intact, but replacement (such as in the case where the harddisk to which you've copied the data dies) becomes problematic -- you've no "proof" that you have a license.
