It's working well for me. Can you describe the problem you're seeing?

Did you upgrade your XP system to Win7, or do you have a fresh installation (or new computer)?

In Device Manager, make sure the installed mouse is identical to the hardware you have. Make sure you're using the correct driver e.g. don't use a Logitech driver for an MS mouse.

You can also try advanced mouse software - IntelliPoint for MS mice, there are equivalent utilities for Logitech rodents. These can let you do things like define the number of lines that get scrolled per scroll wheel click, redefine the action for the mousewheel click etc. Speaking of mousewheel click, its default action is usually an up-down locked scrolling action, which you may find useful. It seems weird and a bit hard to get used to initially, but once you get the hang of it it can be really handy in some situations.

If you're using a wireless mouse, I've seen their performance get spotty if the batteries get low. Depending on the wireless technology you can also get interference from other devices. I've used a number of wireless mice at various client sites, they all seem laggy and jerky. IMO nothing beats a good wired optical mouse on a good mouse pad or optical mousing surface.
