It only makes sense NOT to use Microsoft wherever possible now. I would only use them as a back end server and NEVER for the interface. Use open source tools like HTML 5 and jQuery for the interface of your applications and you'll be glad you did because it will work with everything .. tablets... phones.. you name it. (and work better than anything MS will put out!!)
