Hi Denis,

If the function isn't Windows-specific, it is supposed to be there. The Fox part of this isn't new: Recital has been around for 23 years or so. There are additional functionalities that have been added to the Fox language that you will run into.

That said, it's a different model of programming, based on the idea that a program must run everywhere, in every way. There are mobile web clients, that look like native apps, but are really web apps. And there will be (Fall and Winter, respectively) iOS and Android native clients, where VFP code will run on the client. So the usual ways need to be rethought: what you get to keep is the domain knowledge encapsulated in your proc/method/trigger code, mainly. Until I thought of it wa a tablet app (and worked out it would work for power users with 2 or 3 monitors), I was skeptical. As for the Fox language, I figured the most important parts are there, and I'll find the small stuff when I come across it, and the work around it (or ask Lianja to put it in).

>>The best new product I've seen coming to market is Lianja: you can use your VFP skills, and move your product really into the 21st century. Still to be known (it's at the end of an 18-month beta process now, with V.1 set for a month from now) is the actual pricing: what's on their web site is going the change, but I don't know exactly how. What I've heard is that "developers are going to like it." I hope so, as it really seems to me to be the best of the available worlds. Warning: if you look at it, you will wonder how your app is going to fit into that UI model. Unless you spend a lot of time on a SmartPhone and a Tablet -- in which case you will know.
