I'm not a great fan of "shipment" figures that can over-represent sales of new devices, but:

Looking at latest international 2011-2012 figures, Symbian tanked from 26% to 6.8% over the year.

Despite predictions, those customers were not moving to WP: WP fell again, from 2.6% to 2.2% of shipments. FWIW this is less than the oddball Linux niche phones out there.

Meanwhile Android grew from 36% to 59% and Apple also increased to 23%. Everybody else lost ground.

This means that Android and iOS between them represent 82% market share with no credible competition in sight from the other single-figure stragglers out there.

Blackberry had been considered a contender, but it is in deep trouble and unless a buyer is found it may go under despite still holding 6.4% market share.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
