This may be related to memory leaks and a related, progressive use of virtual (disk-based) memory (which is slower than RAM). Go to the MS Knowledge base and search keyword "memory leaks".....carefully look at whatever is listed and see if any of it applies to your application and what the workarounds are, if any.
