Hi Ken,
I've been using Promatrix for 1.5 years now & overall, I do like it.
On the up side it gets you up & running quickly & does provide all
the necessary behavior of a good framework. On the down side, there
is a lot of overhead if you end up using it more as a framework than
an application generator (This is what we did). We use about 50%
of what Promatrix has to offer & we had to work around the remaining
50%, though it was not overly difficult since it's simply a matter
of stepping through their code & making any necessary changes.
If you need to get going quickly I would recommend Promatrix, if you
have a little more up front time I would suggest a leaner Framework
like MaxFrame.

The other day a site was quoted in a post (can't recall what it was), but I went and checked it out and their primary product was a Project "Wizard", if you will, that had quite a list of references.
