>>>Still better than my first 'PC', an Apple 2C with a whole 1 meg RAM with CP/M and dual floppy readers!
>>
>>1Meg of RAM? You had it made!
>>
>>My first 8088 turbo PC had 256K and dual 360K floppies (the second was an option) with a hercules graphics card.
>>
>>I hot rodded it with an NEC V20 CPU and a multi-I/O card bumping up RAM to 640K. What a machine!

>If this is the Apple //c (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_//c ) that I'm thinking about, utilizing more than 64K (rather 48K, as about 16K was ROM space) requires fiddling with bits somewhere to select between different memory pages. The 65C02 (or Z80 if you were using the CP/M option card) only had a 64K memory address space -- so bank-switching would be required to extend the memory space (sort of like EMS on the PC).
Not Apple (Apple is not allowed in my house) - PC. At the time running DOS 3.1.
