Oops, make that 7/31, as the release has been pushed back. So the first release of the book will have more in it. :)

>>I know there will be one book for Lianja, since I'm writing it. <s> It will be ebook only, published monthly like a magazine, with a section for monthly special articles. I'm hoping to have a (free) pre-release for the V.1 release 7/9.

>>>I can understand that! As far as I am concerned i do not play the enterprise game any more. Just maintaining a couple of expert tools at the margin of the IT game.

>>>Using VFP for this is just an historical feature. The application I work on are a subset of VFP-databased applications that should be re-written in say python (no problem) or C++ (another story).

>>>
>>>The application I have in mind - that only one - can be described as a sort of "browser" targeting niche power-users. Browsing a mix of local and http xml-formated resources. It requires big screens and multi-form (not only mdi) is a must. Of course have a possibility to offer an functional subset of the product into an android/ipad/iphone stuff could be a competitive advantage on the long-run. But the opposite ain't true.
>>>
>>>I'll make a fully functional test of the product once it's looked like documented. Getting older and working of applications that range into the tenths of thousand lines of cod, I am much more of "book-and-doc-first-guy". I am certainly not alone within the community waiting for more paper until building a full test case.
>>>
>>>The Lianja should not forget we are no kids any more. Diving head first does belong to our current way of contemplating IT. Used to be. Not any more.
