>When are you going to learn that the majority of people in the United States are middle-of-the-road/conservative. They don't want to support Ultra Liberal or Ultra Conservative viewpoints. You've been awfully quiet since your predictions of the outcome in Wisconsin. Obama's history, you'll have to learn to deal with it.

I'm not ready to declare Obama history. Events do appear to be leading in that direction but it's still very early. The majority of the electorate will not really be paying attention until after Labor Day. The debates have yet to even be scheduled. That said, the incumbant has had a miserable May and June. World events in Egypt, Syria, Iran, Israel combined with the slow-motion financial calamity in Europe and our own economic malaise both self-inflicted and reflecting the world have set the stage on knife-edge where there is very little room for short term improvement and great potential for a key card to fall and start the collapse into double-dip. Presidential incumbants generally live and die on the public's perception of the economy. There are currently 8-10 states in play where there used to be 6-7 just a few months ago. If that trend continues into the fall and/or first debate, get ready for a landslide come November.

Of course, if the economy genuinely improves going into the fall, then Obama will likely retain his job. This Thursday is going to help our overall economic outlook, just how much depends on whether the unseverable baby is thrown out with the unconstitutional bathwater. If future regulatory clarity is achieved come Thursday, the irony is that it will improve the President's re-election chances.
