When you select Help, you are brought to the Recital Language docs. Not a huge help, but what you see there is available in the language (except for mysqlxxx and rdoxxx, which require separate servers, and so were left out of the beta).

The video tutorials and the blog entries on the site provide a lot of information; but of course you (and I) would rather have that in a succinct "10 minutes in the 1-person library" document.

There's a reason I'm writing a book. <s> I too noticed what was missing. Lianja is busy writing class docs, etc. now, and more videos are on the way (all the old ones either have been, or are, being redone). Yvonne's how-to videos are the best I've seen.

>>Hi Greg,

>>the scx/vcx importer won't be available until v1.1, which is scheduled for 9/30 (this year).
>>
>>I'll add a chapter on converting your VFP app to the book, now that you mention it. <s> It starts with creating a database and importing your data (which can come from anywhere). Then, if you have your business rule code separate from your forms, put those in a library (create a Library). That can be either a class (in a prg) or a procedure file.
>>
>>Or, if you want, you can put your business code into the DD: field and table triggers, e.g. Down the line (not too far) we will be finding a way to make generic calls in triggers, so triggers can be specified where they should (at the metadata level) and the developer only has to pay attention to exceptions.
>>
>>I find the DD a pain to work with, because it never gives you the ability to move quickly from table to table, looking at all the triggers easily. The Lianja Object model opens that all up, however, so we (Frank and I) will be creating an alternative UI. Quite easy to do in Lianja, fortunately. Any code demo'd in Hello, Lianja will be distributed through the LianjaX Open Source repository (everything in there will be licensed through Apache 2, so there are no concerns with using it in commercial software). That will include any tools we build -- having learned over 10 years that there's no money to be made selling tools, regardless of how good they are at making development more efficient and more accurate.
>>
>>If you need to do special setup for a "form" (which is to day, in Lianja, a "section"), put the code in the INIT of the section.
>>
>>The Lianja object is the key to making things work together. Using it you can get the activepage.activesection.activecontrol, you can switch to another page or section, etc.

>>>Hank,
>>>
>>>I just downloaded the App Builder and App Center. I am confused. There appears to be no real documenation. Especailly involving migrating existing VFP application / project to Lianja. Can help by providing some web links to places where I can research.
>>>
>>>>That's very kind. Anyway, it's not a money-maker. In fact, if Lianja has a 30-day trial (I don't know what their strategy will be for that), I'll probably give it away with the trial -- so that people who are trying it out get the experience of the product without the initial learning challenges and frustration. The regular price with be $.99 /issue or $2.99 for a year's worth of issues (12, minimum, more like 18 the first year to keep up with changes).
>>>>
>>>>I'm doing it to learn the product better; and to get more people using the product. Lianja becoming a hit means I don't have to bludgeon yet another product into submission, so it's in my very direct interest for it to succeed.

>>>>>>I know there will be one book for Lianja, since I'm writing it. <s> It will be ebook only, published monthly like a magazine, with a section for monthly special articles. I'm hoping to have a (free) pre-release for the V.1 release 7/9.
