You beat me to it. That was my immediate reaction. I have had Roberts pegged as a hard core conservative, right along with Scalia and Thomas, and he proved me wrong. A tip of the hat.

The guy who really should go is Scalia. Did you read about his diatribe in the Arizona immigration decision? He went off on a political rant against Obama, even though the President had nothing to do with the specifics of the case. I don't care what the politics are, that is not appropriate behavior by a Supreme Court justice. I would be just as annoyed if, say, Sotomayer used her opinion as a soapbox to lay into some conservative politician. Completely out of line for a Justice.
