We have implemented an automated process for automatic MS WORD merge:

1) The software creates a typical comma-delimited text file with
a header line:
"Last Name","First Name","New Salary Base"
"Dupont","Martin","12,000."
...

2) VFP-OLE automation open the defined master document and triggers the merge action into a new document.

That works fine on most workstations.

However for some reason this will not work on some PCs.

The MS WORD software - same 97 setup - just refuses to access the txt data source. Using VFP OLE to activate merge but also natively from within MS WORD itself. The data source will just not open.

This is very odd because the ODBC generic odbcjt.dll driver seems to be the same (dated 14/12/96) on all machines.

Any hints? Is MS WORD using ODBC driver or running its own embedded one text file entry?

Would any one suggest an improved driver and the place where i can find it?

Would this problem be fixed if i use other export data type (CSV, ...) ?

Any recommendation ? I can not use Excel or OLE-data feeding, to slow. That are the sole restrictions.
