I detect an angry dog owner.

Tell me have you ever used the phrase "he's not normally like that" :-)

>So we should get rid of all large dogs because they're able to kill you. While we're at it, get rid of the horses, goats, sheep, pigs (and if you don't think a pig could kill you, then you haven't spent any time around pigs) and every other animal that weighs more than 25 pounds.
>
>And, by the by, all dogs were designed/bred for a specific purpose - with the possible exception of the King Charles Spaniel (and aren't humans doing a GOOD job with those? Some of the poor dogs have their brains exploding out of their skulls because 'the small head is sooooooocute!')
>
>Dachsunds were bred up as badger hunters. Chihuahuas as royal guard dogs. Pits were bred up as cattle dogs - that they were used in bull/bear baiting is, again, a human thing.
>
>My dogs love children, well - except for Xena, but she doesn't like anyone unless they're paying her ALL the attention; and would scare the living snot out of kids with their exuberence wanting to play. Now, is it the dog's fault? Or, would it have been our fault for not teaching the dogs to stop and wait for the kids?
>
>My point is, you cannot say for certain what the dogs was crashing against the fence for. And where was the human who should have been calling the dog down (or in)?
>

>>Dachsunds and Chihuahuas are unlikely to be able to kill you.
>>
>>We had a case here recently of a pit bull attacking a neighbours child in the garden.
>> Reminded me of visiting my sister in law when the neighbour had a pit bull, as we sat in the garden with the children I could hear this animal repeatedly crashing head long into the fence.
>>
>>As Viv said they are designed/bred for a specific purpose not as a pet.
>>
>>>Obviously, you've never spent any time around pit bull terriers. The problem is with the humans that own them. Dachsunds and Chihuahuas are statistically far more aggressive and apt to bite, followed by the Jack Russell Terrier.
>>>
>>>But humans are stupid. It used to be the German Shephard, then it was the Dobies and the Rotties. Now it's the Pits.
>>>
>>>
>>>>
>>>>I see it as a dangerous animal that should be removed.
>>>>
>>>>And dogs/humans, its not really the same thing at all is it.
>>>>
>>>>Tell you what at least they could be useful and make burgers out of it.
