There were some hacks you could do to get it back in the early versions (I have a machine with the consumer preview on it) - but I hear that one the Release Preview versions the hacks don't work.
My problem with that is a) I think it will upset a lot of I.T. folks and b) The handheld machine that I have (Viliv S5 and soon a Tainell U-Touch 500) only runs 1024x600 native - as it common with a lot of UMPC's - but the Metro crap requires 1024.x 768. Another huge blunder by Microsoft if ya ask me.
Don't get me wrong - I like the concept of the Metro tiles and such - heck I used Microsoft's Origami for quite a while and was wondering if stuff like that would catch on or not. Looks like it has :) Now if I could just use it with my hardware....
>There is no "start button". Instead, there is a "start screen" that is Metro. I've been using Win8 every day for several months and rarely see Metro tiles. I spend almost all my time on the desktop.
