>While I have some reservations about Metro on desktop/laptop, I think Microsoft is very smart. One of the big complaints I hear about Apple is the UI is different on iPhone/iPad compared to their standard OS. Microsoft will have one UI across all devices (although I believe servers are an exception, but I haven't verified it).

It's interesting marketing to say they have one UI across platforms.

Most people on desktops don't want the Metro interface and will have to work to avoid it. People on handhelds will only have the Metro interface.

>>My problem with that is a) I think it will upset a lot of I.T. folks and b) The handheld machine that I have (Viliv S5 and soon a Tainell U-Touch 500) only runs 1024x600 native - as it common with a lot of UMPC's - but the Metro crap requires 1024.x 768. Another huge blunder by Microsoft if ya ask me.
>>Don't get me wrong - I like the concept of the Metro tiles and such - heck I used Microsoft's Origami for quite a while and was wondering if stuff like that would catch on or not. Looks like it has :) Now if I could just use it with my hardware....
