As Ed said, the launcher method is win-win...the logout problem is really beyond the scope of your vfp app, and should be in the hands of your LAN people. After all, there are other and sometimes more critical software updates to make in a net environment. For example, we have Macafee updates every couple months, and sometimes they're urgent when a new virus suddenly appears. This is a job your LAN folks should be enforcing - periodic logoffs.

That said, I monitor usage through Server Manager too - if I see a user on the system for 80 hours, I may gently remind them I need to have them shutdown for an upgrade. You might look into such a tool if you don't have it...
