You can cast an empty vote, basically you put a "white paper" (by the name but the paper can be any color as long as it has no text on it) or nothing in your envelope (it is called "votar en blanco" (voting (in) white)?). You can also cast an invalid vote, which is a void vote (voto nulo) which are votes that will be disregarded, for example you write something in the envelope or a myriad of things that will make your vote invalid. The difference will be in the percentages, as a "empty vote" will count towards the total, while an void one will not. (not sure about the terminologies I used for "voto en blanco" and "voto nulo")
