>>That is a very valid point...at least right now. If Lianja takes off and there ends up being a bunch of people using it, then sure - but jumping into it at this point seems a tad risky doesn't it? What if it ends up with a small user base? Sure, it might turn out to be huge - but unless yer a fortune teller no way of knowing that right now. Personally I wouldn't take the chance if the project was anything large.

I see 2 issues:

1) The VFP angle de-risks it in the immediate- to- short-term for a lot of people here, especially compared to alternatives that require a complete rewrite.

2) As Hank keeps saying, Lianja's compelling proposition is not VFP but the "write once, run anywhere" concept. This, plus its python/php/javascript capability, makes it interesting for development communities that number into the millions and currently drive most of the internet. Seems to me the only thing that may hold some of them back is price. It's also true that Recital has been around for a very long time and has its roots in serious industries like banking, with some pretty serious businesses planning to proceed with it. It's not going to be as easy to scoff at Lianja as it was at VFP or eTecnologica.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
