early in the morning being what, 8 am? That's when the DL offices open here. And they close at 5pm (6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

So, if you have to rely on our oh-so-lovely (and timely) public transportation, that means you catch the first bus around 6:30, once you figure out how many stops/changes you'll need to make.

Hopefully you don't have to BE AT WORK at 8am, or have a job that doesn't allow time off (and don't kid yourself, there are plenty of them out there - no matter what the law says), or don't get off work until 5pm and hope your bus doesn't get stuck in traffic and actually makes it to the office by 6.

And plan on being there awhile, since Gubner Perry has slashed state agency budgets by an aggragate 60-75% since he's been in office (except the Governor's Office, amazing that, huh?) and most of those 'savings' have come in personel, there aren't enough people to clear the backlog.

That's the reality of DPS here.

>>Because many of them don't have such an ID (turns out about 10% of PA voters have neither a drivers license nor the state-provided non-drivers photo ID). Getting such an ID can be expensive (both in actual costs and in work hours lost), difficult and time-consuming.

>That's not true, it takes about 15-30 minutes if you go early in the morning. there are even programs available to help the indigent pay for it. There is no excuse for not having an ID.... My grandmother died at 95 and had a driver's license.
