Government (especialy U.S. Federal gov) uses JAVA and Oracle primarily
Startups and Cutting Edge (Silicon Valley) will invariably use all Open Source - Linux, Java, PHP, Python, etc
Big corporations use Microsoft and .NET just like they used to use IBM
But the success of Open Source especially for small companies and companies in the news (like Google, Facebook, etc) has definitely opened up the space to consider all possible technologies. I don't blame clients who look skeptically at consultants who only speak and push the Microsoft corporate line.
The name of the game is practical and creative use of software and not strict adherence to any one vendor. Many times this will involve combining Microsoft technologies with Open Source. (and there's no reason FoxPro can't play here too!)

>Go to Staples, or any similar store and try to buy a laptop that does not have Windows installed.
