Typical of every dictatorship is that it can't take a joke. Be it statist socialism, fascism, corporatism, church hierarchy... they'll find any reason to press hard on anyone making a joke.

The probable reason for this is that they never understand them, because they aren't listening to it - instead, they keep checking if it may be targeting them, or make them look funny, stupid or irrelevant. When the punchline comes, they don't get it.
