I told her that she is fortunate to have grown up on a level playing field, or at least a lot more level than it used to be. I said Sally Ride is one of the women who made this possible and I hope you find a moment today to appreciate her.
It was cool to read that Sally Ride had four degrees from Stanford, including a doctorate in physics. She didn't just have a nice smile.
Some people leave footprints in the sand. She was one of them.
The sad part is 61 wasn't enough. She deserved several more decades.
