I want to do it on my computer, not on the web, to make it as a "presentation" (actually I am planning a slide show of photographs for a special birthday party).
>Are you wanting to do this on the web, phone, or both? There are some nice plugins for jquey that will do some nice transitions but not sure if they will do exactly what you describe. The choices are less if using jquery mobile. The problem with HTML5 is there are still too many browsers that will not support it.
