Judging by the invoice number I got, the subscriptions are down to a few hundred (but then I don't know how many of these are monthly/quarterly/annual). If the cost of running the server isn't too much, and Michel has other gigs, it's still not a loss.

As for ads, I wouldn't know. I'm filtering them out for years, all over the web :).
