http://www.gimp.org/ for a very capable and FREE graphic manipulation utility in the event that you need a bit more than what PP can do. It's very powerful and can be used to create icons, backgrounds, images, etc. That said it's always great when you don't have to leave the program you're in to get the job accomplished.
