Thanks Rick, that pointed me in the right direction. I took the blunt option and added plenty extra rights but will spend a bit of time paring them back to find out exactly what is needed.
There is something that I cannot explain. I could not get the files working to a different server trying both \\server1\folder1\files or K:\folder1\files even though I added in plenty of rights for all the iusr users (and others). Yet when the exact same files are on the c drive this works and I do not add any rights to these c:\folder1\files folder, there is no iusr in the permissions on this. Any ideas?
