Totally agree. But I know my gut is biased:
Since I cannot fathom the idealism for instance of Apple fans, I shied away.
SAP was an easy call for me, but Facebook, Twittr and so on are not for me.
Even Google (as advertizing does not make ME budge) is straining my visualization.
Had a few good runs with software, but the chances missed are more educational ;-)
