I don't remember VFP 5.0 too well, but I'd start by looking at properties of the field on the report form that is bound to the data you are trying to display. Look for:

1.) A setting that allows fixed rather than floating layout/position.
2.) If you see anything that sets the field to "stretch" you might want to turn that off.
3.) Also look for text wrapping settings.

Sorry, but I don't have VFP 5.0 installed so I can't be more specific.
