Yep... tried that.. tried to return .t. in gotfocus and when... still didn't work.. I think I tracked it down to a control on the active form now giving up focus, even though the cursor appeared in the text box that was in the tool bar.

As I said above, navigation keys don't seem to do anything when the textbox in the toolbar has focus. The VFP DOC makes mention of this, but it is not to detauled.

I seem to have got it working.

Do you know if returning FALSE from the keypress event of the textbox causes the control to loose focus, the doc didn't seem to say?
