Obviously, I disagree with you on that. I've been spending time in the local Obama office entering data from the hundreds (thousands?) of calls being made by volunteers. While I of course don't know the vast majority of the people who are being called, the ones indicating they support Obama seem to vary in age, ethnicity (based on their names), what part of our county they live in, and so forth.
I think you want to believe that the vast majority of Obama supporters fit the stereotype you describe because that fits your narrative for what this election is about.
