>>>Hi,
>>>
>>>Today my computer stopped communicating with the wireless router. The router is not a problem since others in my household have no problem.
>>>
>>>What I see on my computer (Windows 7 Pro) on the taskbar (right bottom) there is network icon in the notification area that shows various connections. Prior to today if I click on it I would see the ID of the router. Now it is gone. I opened Computer Management window, found Network Adapters and see Intel (R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN. When I click on Properties for this adapter it say "This device is working properly." Right now I am hard-wired to the router. When I unplug the Cat5 cable and click on the network icon in the notification area there is a message something to the extend that networks are available. But I can't seem to bring the list.
>>>
>>>Does it mean that my network adapter is at fault? Any other suggestions? TIA.
>>
>>Is there some 3rd party software that controls you're wireless on your laptop? I've found those often cause problems and disable them so it uses the Windows one...

>I just found the solution. There is a switch (hard-ware) on the side of the computer that I probably by accident turned off (when I was leaving the office). I turned it on (by pushing it) and the wireless is working. Gave me a big scare. Imagine today living without a wireless <g>
>Thank you for your help and suggestion.
I get a similar problem from time to time. I am sure I don't touch that switch, but sometimes I had to turn it again on to get the wireless working.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
