That is true. I see it this way: if you want to port desktop apps to mobile, you will have a bad expirience as you have to cut screens.
If you build in a paradigma useful to mobile, adding some components together to form better expirience on large screens,
this adding is easier.

I focus currently more on the non-GUI aspects, language and data engine. Just from language scope it is very similar.
Aa building layered apps was my ccredo for years, that is the area I have highest hopes for.
Having a pjx importer or screen converter is ok if you want to port the whole app just to run under Lianja, that might work,
but what is your benefit? Mac and Linux desktops, perhaps 10' Pads. If you want mobile, IMO you must switch to another metaphore.

run simple prg's to get a feel for language first, use debugger/wait window/print and fileIO to get walking first ;-)
