I've run into this before. You may have to use the optional "CLASS" part of append general.
In Windows 3.1 (memory time), you had to use APPE GENE
FROM CLASS "PBRUSH"
In Windows 95, it was class "PAINT"
I hope this helps. It doesn't rely on defaults but is explicit on the OLE class to use.

>I have a win98 machine that refuses to allow the lower lines of code to execute. I get the error "Error creating OLE object". The "Help" information for this is rather vague. I've personally went through the machines associations and even checked thru the registry. I've also reinstalled win98, but none of this worked. Anybody got any ideas on how I can solve this? It only happens on one machine in my office. TIA!!
