First of all, it is estimated that only half of those on welfare are even employable due to mental or physical disabilities. The other half are barely eking by, living hand to mouth. And you want to tax them so the taxes on the rich can be reduced? No, we are definitely not on the same page.
So are you implying that 50% of all Americans are on welfare? I agree that a huge number of Americans are receiving some sort of government assistance, but I do not believe that almost 50% are on welfare.
The reason that I think everyone should pay some federal income tax is so that everyone has some skin in the game. The idea that this would reduce taxes on the well-to-do is insane. Are you saying that low income earners do not benefit from police and fire protection and do not use public roads?
