Mayhaps so, mayhaps no, and who would be choosing the 'right folks' to run things? Isn't that what's NOT working right now?

If programs are started and not effective, then perhaps they might be corrected, or done away with - if these programs didn't have some politico squatting on top of it as his exclusive domain.

>Maybe so, but would the new way be good? If we just had the right folks running things, would that be okay? I guess no matter who those right folks are, they are going to want to do things -- programs will be started. If those programs are not effective, what will happen?

>>>As long as the government does as much as it does, and people want govenment's "help", term limits don't help, they probably would hurt. Rookie congresspersons can't know all about the thousands of things being considered -- they don't have the experience. Since they can't learn enough, they rely on bureaucrats and other experts (lobbists).
>>>In OOP, we talk all the time about messaging. When you vote for someone who can't win, you are messaging our civilization as to what you really want. That gives feedback to the system. (Not that I have much hope for it.)

This is the only way to get rid of our dismal 2-party system and bring real change via 3rd party candidates. By ranking candidates, your vote for a 3rd party candidate isn't "wasted".
