Producing the machine required employees, that's true, but using it usurps other's jobs...

That is true, John. But the jobs created are higher paid skilled jobs and jobs usurped are generally menial and lower paid. So the people who lose their low paid menial jobs might have to get some training to service or sell or manufacture the machines that took their jobs, but it would be well worth it in terms of the higher wages they would earn for the rest of their careers.
