IF (yes, that would be a big if) it were a question of increased competition only, then yes - but right now, one of the things that does keep your insurance less than mine is the fact that Texas probably has far fewer regulations on insurance companies than Ohio does - on a state level - whether it's health, home or auto.

Intuitively, I would think that the fewer government regulations and red tape that a company has to deal with, the cheaper it is for them to do business. Just look at all the expense that Dodd-Frank has caused for the banks. And what do they do? They pass the costs on to us, of course. But I really do not know why insurance in Ohio is cheaper than insurance in Texas.
