Chorizos are generally sold around here, accurately or inaccurately, as Mexican sausage. At least that is the way they are marketed. I love them. It's too bad my formerly cast iron stomach can't take chorizos, jalapenos, the hot varieties of Italian sausage, and so on like it used to. It must be some cosmic joke that they are in proliferation just when my stomach is saying Give me a break, boss. There are several nearby carnicerias where I am often the only gringo. I don't go there to make a point. They have the best produce, bar none.
I am sure Mr. Borges would have a thing or two to say on this topic. He probably did.
