All good points. I have a Nook Tablet. It also runs Android. My biggest gripe is the crippled it so you only get 1 GB to load non-BN books. You can fix that with an SD card.

I'll probably get a Surface or other Win8 tablet after the first of the year.

Kindle and Nook are terrific for the price and for their niche, I just wanted to see the whole tablet thing in its state of the art right now and really be able to see what android software looks like in case I get bored and want to learn to write cross-platform stuff.
