When I start the application I open the database using the VALIDATE option. When the application running from the server it takes long time, around 15 seconds while it takes 1 second on the desktop.

my question: is it risky not to use VALIDATE?? do you use it all the time??
or is there a way to make it run as fast as it is on the desktop???

By the way, I have the app on the server and run it from a shortcut on the desktop.
