>When both my daughters were in conception my wife insisted on having amnio tests to see if there were any abnormalities. We were both over 30 when we married and the risk goes up with age. We had close friends who were older than us and had a son with Down syndrome, so it wasn't just theoretical. We did not have any explicit discussions about what she would have wanted to do if the amnio didn't come back happy. IMO it is the woman's choice and I would have had a voice only as an adviser and a shoulder to lean on. That is a pretty cosmic issue I am thankful we didn't have to face.
Also tested - but started impregnating only after explicit agreement to end in case of Down.
IMO this should not be the woman's choice if both plan to be active parents - even if last decision is.
I know my weak points
