That could be the case, but I've seen too many instructors that know the intro stuff and teach full time, so they don't have the knowledge to past that. There are exceptions. I took an intro to C# class a few years ago and a fantastic instructor. We hung out alot in the evenings and are friends still today.

I think I may have misunderstood something, besides, the course is just the 'Introduction', so I guess it was a bit simplified. But he emphasized the importance of separating the concerns, the ability to easily replace each layer, etc.
